Heartbreak at Tarn Aeluin

In just an instant a young driver, probably yapping away on her cell phone, pulled out right in front of me. Despite a quick response, my Conti Extreme’s in dry weather, and the best the ABS could do, I t-boned a 96 Nissan Altima on the way to work this morning.

So sad…my car 🙁 My Turbo-X is really the only car I ever splurged on for myself. My previous rides were a Golf, Ford Ranger, Jetta…that kind of thing. Way “back in the day” the original Ford Fiesta.

We’ll see what my insurance covers. Its about $7000-$8000 in damage, which puts it very close to 50% of KBB. That means it is pretty close to the “total out” line here in the states.  Most of the cost is the lights and labor.

Should add that no one was physically hurt. That Altima is toast…destroyed by 3800 lbs of Swedish might and power!

Not looking good – parts are non-existant.

The word is given – totaled. Ah well – what can you do. Its just a car, but still the first car I owned that I really built for me and wanted. Well – can do it again. 8 down 9 up…suck it up…all that. No worries.
