Pinnacle Souveran – Treat Your Car Right

If you are looking for a great car wax, you can’t go wrong with Pinnacle Souveran Wax. I’ve been using this for a few years on my Saab Turbo-X and now on my BMW 328i.

Souveran is a 100% carnauba wax, made in the USA, and highly refined into a smooth white paste. It goes on easy and dries fairly quickly. I put on one section at a time and then use one towel to get most of the haze off and then follow up with a second towel. I use only microfiber cloths, either Supreme 530’s or Carrand’s Body Shine Max towels. Once all the sections are done, I go over the whole car with a Porter Cable random orbital buffer just to smooth things out for consistency.

It also does not generate as much “white” on trim and accessories. I do tape my car with 3M painters masking tape – the blue tape, but you always seems to get some wax where you don’t want it. Pinnacle Souveran is more forgiving than other waxes.

Here’s some pics.

I usually get my supply from AutoGeek.net. Decent prices and reliable delivery. I also get towels (Cobra towels are very nice) and buffer pads from them. Based on some tips from my buddy Nigel, I’ve also been experimenting with products from Chemical Guys. Their stuff seems pretty solid, especially the shampoos. AutoGeek does not carry their products; boo.
